Calling All Jack Kerouac Fans!

Join the fun as Lowell celebrates the 97th birthday of one of the city’s brightest literary stars at the 2nd Annual Marathon Reading of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road.

More than 100 volunteers will take turns reading this iconic novel on Saturday, March 9th at two readings:

12—4PM at the Pollard Memorial Library

4—11PM at the MCC Donahue Academic Arts Center

They are still looking for readers and volunteers to be part of this special community event, so click here to be sign up!

Ready to celebrate Jack Kerouac tonight? Check out the film screening of One Fast Move or I’m Gone: Kerouac’s Big Sur at 6:05 PM at Luna Theater, Mill 5, 240 Jackson St. 4th Floor. Or on Friday night, take in a screening of the newly restored, high-definition version of John Antonelli film, Kerouac: King of the Beats followed by a panel discussion about Kerouac as a young writer and the Merrimack Repertory Theater’s adaptation of the novel fragment The Haunted Life set to make it’s premier later in March. It all starts at 7PM at Middlesex CC Academic Arts Center, 240 Central Street
